Thank you administration, staff parents and students for a great year of instrumental instruction. Our ending activity was the spring concert last week for the St. Charles band and all those kids did a fantastic job! We will miss our graduating 8th graders who participated all four years in band. Congratulations to Matt Grolemund, Tim McGinn and Britney Hamer. They all will be given an opportunity to share their talents once more at their 8th grade mass. All will receive a "Certificate of Recognition" for their participation, committment and follow-thru for 4 years!!! Way to go you guys! You will be missed!
We have some exciting news for those of you wishing your students to continue playing over the summer. We have been asked to put together a "St. Charles Band" for the 4th of July Parade in Hartland held on Sunday June 27th. Start is 2pm with line up at 1:30 at the shopping center near Walgreens. Mark your calendars and let Mr. Halstead and/or Mr. Berlyn know that you can attend!!! Ice cream social following the parade for those of you who participated!!!
Also, more exciting news: This summer, individual and group lessons will be offered for 6 weeks here at St. Charles!!! We will be offering summer lessons to anyone interested in playing an instrument. Wether you are just starting brand new and want a jump before fall or continuing or even adding a second instrument - all are welcome at a discounted rate for St. Charles families. Lessons will last 29 minutes and run on the half hour. Mr. Berlyn has sent home the information sheets, so make sure to sign-up early to get the best times. Lessons will take place in the music room with drop off and pick-up for students at the west side gym entrance doors. These lessons will start the week of June 14th and run through July. We will avoid family vacations by taking off Tuesday, June 29th through Monday July 5th and resume the 6th for a total of 6 weeks. No lessons in August!!! That way, in September we will resume with the private and/or group lessons for the school year.
God Bless you and your family. As always, if you have questions, please feel free to E-mail me at: bberlyn03@yahoo.com or call: 262.727.7064. Also, you may contact the program director; Mr. Klunk at 414.463.2020.
