St. Charles’ Rosetta Stone website
To access the site go to stcharlescs.rosettastoneclassroom.com This is the same site used in school.
The students use the same username and password that they use in school. All students were given sheets with their information and emails have also been sent.
Headsets have been sent home to all families who purchased them. The students used them at school first to test them. If you did not receive your headset, please check with your child to see if they left them in your locker or if they are in their backpack.
If you wish to purchase a headset, I do have a limited amount still available for $22 each. Please send an email or note to school, stating that. Your TADS account will be debited for this amount.
Students in 4th through 8th grade are expected to start working on their language at home. This will count for 10% of their grade. Students may work on their language as much as they want, but must do their required amount on days they do not have World Language. The reason for this is to lessen the days between sessions so the students will have better results.
Grades 4K – 3 Are not required to do homework, but are strongly encouraged to do it
Grades 4-5 Homework 20 minutes each week on a day they do NOT have World Language.
Grades 6-8 Homework 30 minutes each week on a day they do NOT have World Language.
The Rosetta Stone system will monitor access and active participation. This outside access time will constitute 10% of a student’s grade. All other grades will be calculated by the Rosetta Stone system. The score is an average of the lessons. At the end of each lesson, your child is given a score. Students are allowed to repeat a lesson to improve their score.
Sound\\\\Headsets
If you have any problems with the sound or headsets, make sure that the settings in the sound section of the Control Panel are set correctly. There is also a setting on the Rosetta Stone site for the sound preferences. Finally make sure that the headset and the computer are not set to mute.
